Prominent Queens Businessman, Vinnie Papa, Receives Award for Outstanding Leadership in Community Service from St. Mary’s

Vincent Papa, Jr, affectionately known as Vinnie, president of Papa Realty, has been a household name at St. Mary’s since he began donating to the hospital in 1978. Nineteen years ago he joined forces with other business leaders in Bayside to organize an annual golf tournament which continues to raise much-needed dollars for the children at St. Mary’s.

Vinnie’s loyalty, charitable spirit and generosity, commitment of time and effort, leadership, and love of St. Mary’s serves as an inspiration to all. At this year’s golf event at the Engineer’s Country Club on Monday June 6, Vinnie was presented with the 2005 William S. Straight Humanitarian Award for his extraordinary volunteer service and commitment to help the children at St. Mary’s.

Born in Long Island City, Vinnie now resides in Flushing with his wife of 34 years, Jeanne. He has two children, Christopher and Alexandra.
