St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children is a recognized leader in pediatric rehabilitation services; it is a center of excellence in rehabilitation for infants, children, and adolescents facing the consequences of trauma, illness, and congenital disorders. Our integrated team of experienced therapists, medical, and nursing professionals deliver these services wherever the child is cared for—in the hospital, at home, in the community, or at our Institute for Child Development—while helping loved ones embrace their role as primary caregivers.

Programs and Services We Offer
A dedicated multidisciplinary team—complete with bilingual support—designs and delivers an individualized course of treatment to help each child reach his or her full potential. Treatment may include:

		augmentative communication/assistive technology			in-house endoscopic evaluations
					myofascial and craniosacral therapy
		animal-assisted therapy			neurodevelopmental treatment
		burn care			postrhizotomy therapy

Rehabilitation Services are Offered in the Following Programs
Expert pediatric specialists in each of the rehabilitative therapies use a team approach to implement an integrated rehabilitation plan for each child. Team subspecialists include neurodevelopmentally trained therapists, bilingual (Spanish/English) speech and language pathologists, and therapists certified in sensory integration. Services include:

		Inpatient Care – Bayside, Queens or Ossining, Westchester			Institute for Child Development (ICD) – Early Intervention (EI) – Committee for Pre-School Special
		Community/Home-based care – Daycare settings, schools, child’s home			Education (CPSE) – After school and Saturday programs
