“The great thing about Kervin is how outgoing he is—he has this amazing ability to interact with almost anyone.”
Kervin has made great strides since he joined St. Mary’s medical day healthcare program back in 2015. When he began as a 9-year-old diabetic who was unable to walk, he didn’t know just how much he would be able to achieve—but he didn’t let that stop him. Through weekly occupational therapy and physical therapy, Kervin has successfully mastered adaptable reachers—and his independence.
Unlike a lot of kids his age, Kervin loves school and is already looking forward to college; his favorite subjects are math, art, science, gym, and, of course, lunch. In fact, one of the things he likes most about St. Mary’s is the food! When he’s not learning (or eating), Kervin likes to play video games and outdoor tag. He’s so happy that St. Mary’s has helped him improve at games, in his interactions with others—and in just being a kid!
