St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children is committed to improving the health and quality of life for children, young adults, and families with medical complexity and special healthcare needs.
We are New York’s largest and most experienced provider of long-term care to children with medically complex conditions and New York City’s only post-acute care facility for children.
At St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children, we aim to give our kids and their families more than they had dreamed possible.
Adiv is a 10-year-old boy with dysautonomia, a medical condition that prevents his autonomic nervous system from working properly. This condition can affect the functioning of several organs, including the heart, bladder, intestines, sweat glands, pupils, and blood vessels. At St. Mary’s, Adiv receives 24/7 care from St. Mary’s dedicated team of pediatric specialists, including physical therapists, recreational therapists, nutritionists, special education teachers, and many others.
