Coronavirus Update

St. Mary’s Pandemic Emergency Plan (PEP) – Click Here

As the coronavirus/COVID-19 health situation continues to evolve, we are committed to protecting the health and well-being of our patients and families. Together, we are taking steps to minimize the spread of the viruses system wide and in the community. We are continuing to follow the guidelines from the federal and state regulatory agencies.

St. Mary’s has initiated visitor screenings at the front desk in order to identify visitors who have traveled or come in close contact with anyone who has traveled to countries identified by the CDC and any visitors that have or have had (within the last 24-48 hours) fever, sore throat, body aches, and congestion.

Facility wide precautions remain in effect, no visitors under age 12 will be allowed to visit. However based on New York State Department of Health guidelines/directives we are restricting all “unnecessary visits”. All visits will be assessed on a case by case basis. Effective Sunday March 15, 2020 at 5pm, for an initial period of 14 days, all visitors and families will be restricted on all units of the Hospital.

It is important to understand the seriousness with which our clinical team studies any potential risk factors for your children. Our number one priority each and every day is to keep your child safe, protected and happy. It is always within this framework that decisions regarding visitation are made. It is with an abundance of caution that we are restricting all access to our building.

Our current restriction to all unnecessary visitors follows the recommendation detailed by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and Department of Health (DOH). There is so much uncertainty regarding the COVID-19 virus, making our tighter precautions all the more essential.

Our team is here to address all your questions, concerns and worries. Please do not hesitate to reach out. We have every confidence our stricter protocols are the best response to the current public health situation.

The above steps can change daily. Please be patient as updated information becomes available. All of us at St. Mary’s want to ensure we provide the most updated information for our residents, staff and families. Safety is our highest priority at this time.
