St. Mary’s Kids Raises More than $90,000 at Annual Walk

St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children raised more than $90,000 to support New York’s most critically ill and injured children at their annual walk. The funds raised at this event will allow the team of dedicated professionals at St. Mary’s to continue to provide high-quality care to New York’s sickest children, regardless of a family’s ability to pay. This year’s walk, which took place on April 29th at Crocheron Park, included more than 500 participants.

“We’re thrilled with the success of the 13th annual Big Hearts Walk for St. Mary’s Kids, an event that spotlights the exceptional work being done in all of our programs every day,” said Dr. Edwin Simpser, President and CEO of St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children. “This annual event raises much-needed funds that ensure our organization can continue to provide the best quality medical care to New York’s sickest children—regardless of a family’s ability to pay.”

The Big Heats Walk for St. Mary’s Kids was led by six Grand Marshals, young St. Mary’s patients who kicked off the event. Participants were able to choose from either a 0.5-mile, 1 mile or 2-mile route through Crocheron Park. After completing the routes, walkers took part in a Family Fun Day with crafts, cotton candy and more.

Top donors this year included Catherine Manzione, Team Lily Girl, Harris Bulow/Team Charlotte, Merritt Riley/Team Aidan with Arms Wide Open (NYPD organization)
