Nancy Bass Wyden visits St. Mary’s Toddler Story Time Program

Over the past two years, with the help of foundation grants and book donations, St. Mary’s Toddler Story Time Program has had a positive impact on numerous toddler patients at St. Mary’s Hospital for Children, engaging them in fun activities that build their literacy skills and help them develop a love for reading.

One of the recent highlights from the Toddler Story Time Program was a “special guest reader” volunteer visit from Nancy Bass Wyden, owner of the Strand Bookstore in Manhattan. Nancy read 2 pajama-themed books to our toddlers: The Going to Bed Book by Sandra Boynton and Good Night, Gorilla by Peggy Rathman. Nancy also kindly surprised our patients with gifts of literary-themed shirts, as well as additional storybooks for future reading activities.

Toddler Story Time is brightening the lives of our toddler patients and helping them make great strides in developing their speech and literacy skills. Thank you to Nancy and all of our supporters for helping us deliver enriching programs like this one to St. Mary’s kids.
