Program Spotlight: Medical Day Healthcare program

The Medical Day Healthcare (MDHC) program (formally known as the PDHC program) at St. Mary’s Hospital Children offers children and young adults with cognitive and physical disabilities the therapeutic and rehabilitative services they need—and the opportunities to make friends we all deserve.

Located on the park-like grounds of our flagship facility in Bayside, Queens, our medical day care program is open to children age 6 to 18 years old and young adults up to age 30 who have cognitive and physical disabilities. Each group participates in a variety of supervised activities designed to promote their skills, confidence, and independence in a nurturing and fun environment.

Through dynamic therapies, workshops, and projects that encourage independence and promote everyday skills, MDHC children and young adults learn to heal, grow and thrive, and reach their fullest potential.
