St. Mary’s Kids Show Off Their Talent at the 2019 Summer Talent Show

On June 27th, the 2019 Summer Talent show was held at St. Mary’s Hospital for Children, featuring kids from our inpatient treatment program as well as kids in our Medical Day Healthcare program. Our multi-talented kids showed off numerous skills they have developed through our many of our therapeutic programs.

St. Mary’s Kids took to the stage to show off their many talents, including dance moves, instrument playing, and even singing songs from Miley Cyrus’ Party in the USA, as well as Queens Bohemian Rhapsody, and of course, songs by Queen B herself – Beyoncé!

Some people may get nervous at the thought of performing in public, but not St. Mary’s Kids! They radiated pride and joy with powerful dance moves, exuberant singing voices and smiling faces.

Events such as the Summer Talent Show help to support St. Mary’s Kids with social interaction and peer- bonding as well as enjoying the fun and creativity of music. Music and performance help all of the children to express their feelings and come together as a group. Their group performances highlight themes of self-esteem, inclusion and belonging.

St. Mary’s Hospital for Children has been the primary provider of long-term and rehabilitative care for New York’s most critically ill and injured children since the 1870s. St. Mary’s Healthcare System is one of only a handful of organizations around the country that is dedicated to providing intensive rehabilitation, specialized care, and education to children with special needs and life-limiting conditions.
