A Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) is a collaborative group made up of current and former patients, family members, and caregivers who partner with healthcare professionals to enhance the quality of care and the overall patient experience. These volunteer advisors work alongside hospital staff, including clinical, administrative, and support teams—to share insights, offer feedback, and help shape policies and practices that enhance patient-centered care.
By actively engaging patients and families in decision-making, PFACs play a vital role in promoting transparency, trust, and continuous improvement within healthcare organizations.
