At St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children, we believe it is essential to meet the spiritual needs of children with complex medical conditions and their families, which is why we offer a variety of spiritual care and religious programs and services.

We work with each family and in collaboration with a multifaith community of clergy to accommodate all faith traditions and religious practices—as well as meet the spiritual and emotional needs of those who have no religious affiliation and want to use their own inner resources to seek solace and healing.

It all begins by assessing each family’s spiritual needs and pastoral requirements. We then create a holistic plan for meeting those needs, which may include individual or family spiritual counseling and religious service, rites, and healing groups. Our Chaplain will also assist with memorials and remembrance services, bereavement support, and burial services for families who lack the resources to provide a funeral for their children.

St. Mary’s offers a Christian chapel and a nondenominational meditation room for private time, prayer, quiet thought, and spiritual reflection.
