Adam Waxer is the Chief Legal Officer/General Counsel of St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children.
Adam is responsible for all legal and compliance matters at St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children, one of the nation’s premier pediatric post-acute providers of intensive rehabilitation and specialized care for children with special needs and life-limiting conditions. As General Counsel and Corporate Compliance Officer, Mr. Waxer is the key legal and compliance advisor to senior management and the Board of Directors and is responsible for overseeing all legal and compliance matters. His knowledge of federal and state fraud and abuse, healthcare, corporate and regulatory laws and related legal issues facilitate his developing, structuring and implementing legal structures that pertain to corporate, hospital, nursing home, facility and physician joint ventures.
Mr. Waxer comes to St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children with more than fifteen years’ experience as a business oriented regulatory, transactional and compliance health care attorney. He recently held similar positions of General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for various healthcare providers. Adam was also a transactional and regulatory/compliance healthcare attorney at Garfunkel, Wild, P.C., one of the preeminent healthcare law firms. Mr. Waxer is a member of the New York State Bar Association, American Health Lawyers Association, Health Care Compliance Association and Association of Corporate Counsel. Adam earned a J.D. from Hofstra University and a B.S. from The University of Massachusetts-Amherst.
