BNP Paribas and Project Sunshine Always Going Above and Beyond for St. Mary’s Kids

Through various outreach events and activities, BNP Paribas and Project Sunshine have created long-lasting friendships with the young patients of St. Mary’s Hospital for Children

BNP Paribas, one of the best rated banks in the world and one of the largest international networks with operations in nearly 80 countries and 200,000 employees, teamed up with Project Sunshine, an organization dedicated to providing educational, recreational, and social programs to children facing medical challenges and their families, to volunteer their time to hang out with some of New York’s most vulnerable children battling complex medical and life limiting conditions.

Both groups have made an incredible impact on St. Mary’s Kids through multiple visits to the hospital where they’ve planned arts & crafts activities and parties for St. Mary’s Kids that encourage and express creativity.  Just this past weekend, the groups returned to work with the kids once again.

Following the wrath of Hurricane Sandy, BNP Paribas and Project Sunshine stepped up to the plate for St. Mary’s’ families who needed help to rebuild their lives after losing personal belongings, medical equipment and supplies and were out of basic essential needs.  BNP Paribas donated over 100 care packages, packaged and delivered by Project Sunshine filled with non-perishable food items for St. Mary’s families.

Volunteers from BNP Paribas were also part of a special project at St. Mary’s Hospital for Children – MillionTreesNYC- an initiative by New York Restoration Project and the City of New York to plant and care for one million new trees throughout the City’s five boroughs by 2017.  BNP Paribas not only helped fund the project, but employee volunteers rolled up their sleeves and helped kick off the first in a series of tree plantings at St. Mary’s Bayside campus as part of St. Mary’s new Patient Pavilion to design a landscape that, along with the new-state-of-art rehabilitation facility, will provide St. Mary’s kids with a total-healing environment where they can grow and heal.

Project Sunshine and BNP Paribas are true champions for St. Mary’s Kids!
