Adam Waxer Named General Counsel and Corporate Compliance Officer of St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children

 

St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children, a national leader in intensive rehabilitation, specialized medical care, and education for children with special healthcare needs and complex medical conditions, announced the appointment of Adam Waxer to the position of General Counsel and Corporate Compliance Officer. In this role, Mr. Waxer serves as the key legal and compliance advisor to senior management and the Board of Directors. Heading up the post-acute care organization’s legal and compliance initiatives, Mr. Waxer will help St. Mary’s to navigate, affect, and seize opportunities in today’s evolving healthcare environment.

Mr. Waxer comes to St. Mary’s with more than fifteen years’ experience as a business-oriented regulatory, transactional, and compliance healthcare attorney. He has held similar positions for various healthcare providers including independent and multi-entity enterprises. Mr. Waxer was also a transactional and regulatory/compliance healthcare attorney at Garfunkel, Wild, P.C., one of the nation’s preeminent healthcare law firms. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association, American Health Lawyers Association, Health Care Compliance Association, and Association of Corporate Counsel. Mr. Waxer earned a JD from Hofstra University and a BS from The University of Massachusetts-Amherst.
