Assemblywoman Ann-Margaret Carrozza Hosts Holiday Gift Drive For St. Mary’s Patient Families

Queens Assemblywoman Visits Bayside Hospital to Hand-Deliver Toys to St. Mary’s Kids and Learns about Diverse Opportunities Offered to Special Needs Families

District 26, State Assemblywoman, Ann-Margaret Carrozza, personally hand-delivered the toys she collected to help brighten the holidays for young patients and their families at St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children.

As part of her “Toys for Tots,” drive to help children in the community, the Assemblywoman collected bundles of new toys and generously delivered her holiday donation in person as she visited the Bayside hospital and met with some of the most extraordinary kids battling complex medical and life-limiting conditions.

As she eagerly walked around learning about the vital work St. Mary’s staff is involved in, she came face to face with the youngsters who are benefiting from St. Mary’s comprehensive network of inpatient, home care, and community programs and services. She watched as St. Mary’s kids were doing exactly what they came to St. Mary’s for in the first place; to manage their conditions, achieve independence, and grow and strive within a child-friendly, and family-oriented environment.

Assemblywoman Carrozza learned about the diverse continuum of care St. Mary’s staff provide, such as intensive rehabilitation, education, and specialized medical care and therapies.

Her generosity was embraced as St. Mary’s kids excitedly accepted her presents, but most of all, Assemblywoman Carrozza learned about a magical place that is helping children and families with special needs unleash unlimited possibilities.

Accompanying Carrozza was the infamous Santa Claus, aka Dana Friedman, who has been visiting the children of St. Mary’s for years. Friedman, a laywer at The Kleinberg & Friedman firm, brings the joy of the holiday season to St. Mary’s kids each year.
