Bayside Firefighters and Santa Arrive on the Firetruck to Spread Holiday Joy to St. Mary’s Kids

Engine 320, Ladder 167 Brought Holiday Gifts and a Special Guest from the North Pole to St. Mary’s Hospital for Children

They spend their days saving lives, but on Tuesday, December 23rd, they spent their time saving the holidays for some of the most extraordinary kids battling complex medical conditions.

Their sirens were heard from afar and Santa’s sleigh was even closer.

The firefighters of Engine 320, Ladder 167 arrived at St. Mary’s Hospital for Children with a special surprise guest, and truckloads of toys and gifts for the children of the Bayside hospital.

Bundled warmly in their Winter jackets, the children lined up outside to see the big red fire truck pull up, but were even more amazed when they spotted Santa Claus sending greetings from the roof of the hospital.

As Santa began making his way down the ladder with a big red bag full of goodies singing, “Ho Ho Ho, Merry Christmas,” the excitement rose and St. Mary’s kids eagerly waited for a chance to greet their favorite holiday hero.

Santa and his “elves” aka, the bayside firefighters began distributing holiday toys, helping to brighten the holidays for St. Mary’s kids.

This is the 2nd year the local firefighters have taken time out of their busy day to spread a little holiday joy.
