Bravo! Broadway Stars rally for St. Mary’s Kids with high-energy concert in Times Square

It was Broadway at its best, when cast members of Broadway’s hottest shows including the 2014 Tony Award® winning Best Musical A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, presented a high-energy concert in Times Square’s Pedestrian Plaza (Broadway & 43rd Street) to raise funds for St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children, New York City’s only pediatric post-acute care hospital. For the past three years the CBS Radio New York event—Broadway Rocks Times Square for St. Mary’s Kids—has lured the masses of NYC into Times Square to enjoy some of the most highly-acclaimed Broadway shows while expanding awareness of and support for the vital life-affirming programs of St. Mary’s.

This year, the participating shows for Broadway Rocks collectively earned 53 Tony Award nominations, including three Best Musical awards for A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, Once the Musical, and Pippin. The other participating shows Cinderella, Heathers the Musical, Motown the Musical, Rocky, and Rock of Ages were equally impressive and are well-known for their stellar casts and popular songs.

To the delight of the St. Mary’s Kids in attendance and the hundreds in the crowd, each of the eight shows performed brilliantly, and entertained the audience with song, dance and even a jaw-dropping acrobatic performance that left the audience in awe.

‘Brooklyn’s own’ Joe Causi, from WCBS-FM and Ines Rosales from Fox 5 hosted the event, and took turns reminding the crowd about the vital work of St. Mary’s.

The event was made possible through the generous support of CBS RADIO New York, Mercedes-Benz Manhattan, The New York Post, Cupid.com, Fruit Vines, and various Broadway partners.
