The reviews are in! Broadway Rocks Times Square was a huge success!

  • Had a great time with @ZacharyLevi and @StMarysKidsNY in Times Square. Sang a new @FirstDateBway song and lost ten pounds of sweat! – Krysta Rodriguez, star of First Date
  • Backstage w/awesome Krysta Rodriguez at Broadway Rocks Times Sq. Only @StMarysKidsNY could get us out in this 98 degree heat – Lynda Lopez, CBS-AM

Thousands of Times Square pedestrians joined cast members of Broadway’s favorite shows, along with CBS Radio New York personalities and sponsors, for “Broadway Rocks Times Square for St. Mary’s Kids,” a free concert presented by CBS Radio New York in Father Duffy Square (Broadway & 47th Street) on Sunday, June 2nd.

The outdoor event featured performances from the Broadway hits Rock of Ages, SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark, the upcoming Broadway musical comedy First Date and featured a unique photo booth experience sponsored by Broadway’s Let It Be, A Celebration of The Music of The Beatles, to raise awareness about the growing number of children with complex medical needs at St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children, New York City’s only pediatric post-acute care hospital dedicated to improving the health and quality of life for children with special needs and their families.

Some of New York’s hottest stars took their turn on stage to entertain and educate the crowd on the important work of St. Mary’s. Stars of First Date, Zachary Levi (TV’s “Chuck,” Disney’s feature film Tangled, and the upcoming Thor: The Dark World) and television ingenue Krysta Rodriguez (“Smash,” The Addams Family) spent time with St. Mary’s Kids and throngs of fans, including some of NY’s finest.

Lulu & Lala from the Ty LOVES Ny Show on 92.3 Now hosted the event with a special appearance by Lynda Lopez from WCBS-AM. The cast of Rock of Ages had everyone rocking. And rousing numbers from SPIDER-MAN Turn off the Dark kicked off the event.

A special thank you to our friends at CBS Radio New York for presenting this incredible concert for St. Mary’s Kids and the amazing team at akaNYC and the Broadway shows and casts for putting the event together.
