On December 13th, the pediatric patients at St. Mary’s Hospital for Children in Bayside received a very special holiday visit from New York City Police Commissioner James P. O’Neill and the brave men and women of the New York City Police Department.
Dozens of uniformed NYPD officers joined the patients and families at St. Mary’s for holiday caroling, visits with Santa Claus, and a special NYPD flyover salute. There were officers dressed up as famous characters, McGruff the Crime Dog and an appearance by Mr. Met.
Watch the video below to see Santa dressed in his NYPD blue suit and his NYPD elves arrive at St. Mary’s Hospital for Children. It was an amazing day that St. Mary’s Kids will never forget.
Happy holidays to the amazing kids & everyone associated with @StMarysKidsNY. The #NYPD's visit is one of the highlights of our year. Thanks to the @BKCyclones, @MrMet & all the superheroes (in addition to those in @NYPDnews uniforms) for helping make this a great holiday season. pic.twitter.com/829uJSkSpZ
