Darryl Strawberry Will Trade for St. Mary’s at the BTIG Ninth Annual “Commissions for Charity”

St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children has been selected as one of the benefiting organizations of the celebrity-filled event that has raised more than $15 million for Children’s charities

Former Major League baseball outfielder, Darryl Strawberry will be St. Mary’s guest celebrity trader to help raise funds & awareness for children and families with special needs at BTIG’s ninth annual “Commissions for Charity Day” to be held on April 27, in BTIG’s New York office.  BTIG LLC, a global financial services firm specializing in institutional trading and related brokerage services, raised more than $15 million from equity and derivative trading commission profits over the last eight years for children’s charities including The Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, St. Jude’s Hospital for Children and Jacob’s Cure.

Frerichs, St. Mary’s President and CEO.  “St. Mary’s has been the region’s leading provider of pediatric post-acute for some of New York’s most seriously ill and injured children.”

“St. Mary’s is one of only a handful of organizations around the country that is dedicated to providing intensive rehabilitation and specialized care for children with special needs and life-limiting conditions and I’m very proud to be able to assist them in this fund raising event”, said Darryl Strawberry who helped the New York Mets to a World Series championship in 1986 and the New York Yankees to three World Series championships in 1996, 1998 and 1999 during his 17-year career.
