Driving Force Club Visits St. Mary’s Kids

Members of the Driving Force Club, an exotic sport car owners club with members throughout the tri-state area, gave St. Mary’s Kids the thrill of a lifetime by bringing more than 40 exotic cars to St. Mary’s Hospital for Children in Bayside, as well as gifts collected during their annual toy drive.

“St. Mary’s is so appreciative of our community of supporters that constantly seeks new ways to bring fun and excitement into our patients’ lives, ” said Jeffrey Frerichs, President and Chief Executive Officer of St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children. “It was wonderful to see the kids forget about their medical ailments while they admired and climbed inside of the amazing cars.”

In addition to the cars, the children were also entertained with a magic show and face painting and received brand new toys from the Club’s toy drive.

Driving Force Club chooses to visit one or two children’s hospitals in the tri-state area each year, and this year St. Mary’s was lucky enough to be the recipient of their generosity. Children at St. Mary’s are battling complex medical and life-limiting conditions due to serious illness, injury and complications of premature birth. Visits from groups such as the Driving Force Club help bring each of St. Mary’s Kids one step closer toward reaching his or her rehabilitation goals.
