Isabel Robin Opens her Heart for St. Mary’s Kids

Young Singing Starlet & Actress from Theatre By The Bay Raises over $1,000 for 8th Annual Walk for St. Mary’s Kids

Isabel Robin first met the young patients of St. Mary’s Hospital for Children not as herself, but as the little red headed orphan from the award-winning musical “Annie.”

Isabel and the rest of her friends and cast members from Theatre By The Bay, the community theater group of Bay Terrace Jewish Center in Bayside, put on a heart- capturing production of  highlights from the Broadway musical, entertaining St. Mary’s Kids of all ages last year.

St. Mary’s Kids, some of New York’s most seriously ill and injured children battling complex medical and life-limiting conditions, enjoyed the show so much that the cast, this time in their roles in “OLIVER!”, returned again this year.

Isabel’s visits to the hospital impacted her so much that she decided she wanted to do even more to give back to her new friends. As part of her Bat Mitzvah project, she started a Walk team for St. Mary’s 8th Annual Walk for St. Mary’s Kids- a grassroots event to help raise funds and awareness for children and families with special needs.

Isabel gathered her friends and family to join her in her efforts, raising over $1,000 and exceeding her goal.

On Sunday, May 20 at Fort Totten Park, Team Isabel joined over 1,000 walkers who all came out to support a good cause.

“The best part of the experience was when one of the kids actually recognized me as Annie during the Walk,” says Isabel. “It means so much to know that my visits made a difference in their lives.”
