New York Mets Home Game Gathered Tons of Supporters to Help Raise Funds & Awareness for Patients of St. Mary’s Hospital for Children

Over 1600 members from the Knights of Columbus, friends and family, gathered to watch the New York Mets shut out the Baltimore Orioles in a 4-3 win completing a three-game sweep, during a fundraising event supporting patients of St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children.

Because of the dedication of Frank Boccabella, Rocco D’Erasmo,Vinny Ianone , Joe Bonnarigo, Marty Ryan, Jim Mccue, Joe Peluso, Jack Ferrarotti, Ken latham, John Joseph, Fred Jost, and many more Knights who took the time and effort to sell over 1600 tickets to the Mets home game at Citifield this past Tuesday, they raised over $15,000 that will support vital programs and services for children with special needs and life-limiting conditions.

“We appreciate the cooperation of the New York Mets- Mike Renzulli, Senior Account Executive at the New York Mets. He has been most helpful and generous,” said Salvatore Restivo, State Deputy of the Knights of Columbus.

The Corona ballpark was packed with fans and cheering crowds, but no one enjoyed the game more than two of St. Mary’s Kids who had the opportunity to attend and even got a chance to stand in the middle of the field as onlookers cheered for them.

The Knights of Columbus are known as the neighborhood heroes and St. Mary’s very own knight and shining armors. The Knights have spent sleepless nights raising funds & awareness to support programs and services at St. Mary’s through numerous fundraising events, such as this.

Whether the Knights are busy making St. Mary’s t-shirts and souvenirs, sending out emails and flyers soliciting support for St. Mary’s events, or rounding up crowds of supporters, these generous members can always be found spreading their generosity and kindness. Their unconditional passion for the St. Mary’s community is commendable and all their hard work, dedication, strong spirit, and long hours of advocating have not gone unnoticed.
