Ray Sidhom, Jay Grossman, and John Guirguis, owners of TWO Steak and Sushi Den in New Hyde Park, celebrated the opening of their new restaurant by hosting an intimate reception for friends of St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children, one of the nation’s leaders in rehabilitation and specialized care for children with special needs and life-limiting conditions.

“What better way to celebrate then by sharing with others,” remarked Jay Grossman, a sentiment that is reflected in the partners’ ongoing culture of giving back. The evening also served as the launch of HTWOO – Help TWO Others, the restaurant’s eco-friendly water filtration project that benefits worthy charities. The eco- and socially-responsible project enables TWO to bottle high quality plain or sparkling water onsite, with proceeds of first quarter sales to benefit St. Mary’s.

Dr. Eddie Simpser, St. Mary’s Interim President and CEO, greeted the crowd and thanked them for their commitment to improving the health and quality of life for children and their families. Today one in every five children has a special healthcare need, which makes the vital work of St. Mary’s even more important.

The event attracted supporters from throughout the metro area who sampled elegant presentations of culinary feats, including house cured pastrami, seared yellow fin tuna, and the restaurant’s trademark fresh-rolled Sushi. TWO Steak and Sushi Den is located at 1270 Union Turnpike in New Hyde Park.
