Oct. 15 Concert Event at Hard Rock Cafe New York Benefited St. Mary’s Kids

It was an epic night in the heart of Times Square on Thursday, October 15, 2015, as the Hard Rock Cafe New York hosted Nick Cannon ROCKS Times Square for St. Mary’s Kids. The star-studded live concert event benefited the NCredible kids of St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children and was hosted by multi-talented entertainer, comedian, performing artist and board director of St. Mary’s, Nick Cannon. Times Square’s largest annual charity concert was headlined by Grammy-winning artist, Nelly, who energized the audience with numerous of his vibrant hit songs, including his newly released single, “The Fix” with Jeremih.

Additional performances included R&B singer and songwriter, Kehlani; American pop group, Anthem Lights; up-and-coming singer and professional dancer, Amanda Dilks; and stars of “America’s Got Talent,” Alicia Michilli and The Craig Lewis Band, with backup from the New Life Tabernacle Choir.

In addition to the great music the event included a special tribute to Lois Backon, Head of Corporate Partner Marketing at JPMorgan Chase & Co. As Ms. Backon accepted the NCredible Community Leadership Award on behalf of JPMorgan Chase, she graciously shared her spotlight with one of St. Mary’s Kids, an outgoing and bright four year old named Ashley. The event was the culmination of a whirlwind two days in New York for Nick Cannon, as he sought to raise awareness of the expanding population of children with special healthcare needs and the impact of St. Mary’s Heathcare System for Children.

On Wednesday, October 14, 2015 Nick Cannon “flipped the switch,” lighting the Empire State Building in St. Mary’s signature blue in celebration of St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children. Then, on Thursday morning, October 15th at St. Mary’s Hospital for Children in Bayside, New York, Nick visited St. Mary’s Kids, brightening their day and adding inspiration, as many of the performers from the Times Square event were on hand.

The event raised funds and awareness for New York City’s oldest children’s hospital and only pediatric post-acute facility caring for the city’s most medically challenged children. More than 400 guests, VIPs, celebrities, sponsors and children from St. Mary’s gathered in Times Square for the event, presented by JPMorgan Chase & Co., Hard Rock Cafe New York, CBS Radio and WNYW FOX 5.

St. Mary’s would like to thank Nick Cannon, Chase, The Hard Rock Cafe, our media friends at Fox 5 and CBS New York and all the other sponsors, supporters and guests who made the event a success. Thank you all for believing in possible!
