Project Sunshine, BNP Paribas Celebrate One-Year Anniversary of Supporting St. Mary’s Kids with Luau-Themed Festivities

Patients enjoyed arts and crafts, music and games with Miss USA, Miss Teen USA and volunteers from Project Sunshine and BNP Paribas

Patients of St. Mary’s Hospital for Children were treated over the weekend to an animated luau and carnival hosted by volunteers from Project Sunshine and BNP Paribas. The volunteers were joined by Erin Brady, Miss USA, and Logan West, Miss Teen USA who spent the day interacting with the children as they enjoyed a variety of games, arts & crafts projects, and music.

Project Sunshine, an organization dedicated to providing educational, recreational, and social programs to children facing medical challenges and their families, has formed a very special bond with St. Mary’s Kids. Each month Project Sunshine organizes visits to St. Mary’s Hospital for Children, bringing exciting, hands-on activities, fun-filled events, and unconditional friendship to St. Mary’s Kids. Each visit, dozens of volunteers from BNP Paribas, a leader in global banking and financial services and one of the strongest banks in the world, accompany the Project Sunshine Team and engage the young patients in a range of creative activities.

To show their appreciation for a year of dedicated support, the children surprised their volunteers with personalized thank you cards, imaginative original artwork, and a celebration cake. Esther Reid, Volunteer Manager at BNP Paribas accepted the thoughtful gifts on behalf on the bank and Katie Hurley, Program Assistant accepted for Project Sunshine.

“On behalf of all of St. Mary’s Kids and staff, we thank Project Sunshine and BNP Paribas for their one year commitment to supporting our bright young patients with such enthusiasm,” said Jeffrey Frerichs, President and Chief Executive Officer of St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children. “Each month our children look forward to the activities the volunteers plan, each designed to help our children express their creativity and stimulate their imaginations. We look forward to their continued support.”
