Santa and Bayside Firefighters Arrive on the Big Red Truck to Bring Presents and Holiday Joy to St. Mary’s Kids

Santa Makes Grand Entrance with Bag Full of Goodies

These local firefighters spend most of their time saving lives, but this holiday season, they spent a little time saving the holidays for some very special kids who may not otherwise enjoy the festive season.

Firefighters from the bayside area arrived at St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children with truckloads of toys, holiday surprises, and a special guest from the North Pole; all to help uplift the holiday spirits for the young patients of St. Mary’s, some of the most seriously ill and injured children battling complex medical and life-limiting condition.

For the 3rd year in a row, Santa and the bayside heroes gathered toys and special gifts to distribute to St. Mary’s kid, bringing a little sunshine to anxious patients who eagerly anticipate the yearly visit.

As Santa made his grand entrance down the ladder strapped with a bag full of toys over his shoulder, the kids screamed, “Ho, Ho, Ho!” and Santa responded, “Happy Holidays!”

The local firefighters have made it their yearly tradition to visit St. Mary’s, a national leader in post-acute care for children with special needs and life-limiting conditions. The young men and women hold a special place in their hearts for St. Mary’s kids.
