St. Francis of Assisi Students Serenade St. Mary’s Kids With Holiday Tunes

Carolers Bring Early Holiday Greetings to Help Lift the Spirits of St. Mary’s Patients and Their Families

Tis the season to be jolly– and no one can say that better than the young carolers from St. Francis of Assisi in Astoria.

Over 25 students from the school’s choir rang in the holiday season at St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children with favorite holiday carols such as Jingle Bells and Deck the Halls with Boughs of Holly along with many other long-time favorites.

Their vibrant voices and melodious tunes quickly got St. Mary’s kids and patient families in the festive mood, anxiously singing and clapping along.

The special treat was an early holiday surprise and was offered by the young students in an effort to help bring a little holiday joy to St. Mary’s kids, some of the most seriously ill and injured children in the New York region battling complex medical and life-limiting conditions due to serious illnesses, accidents, or severe injuries, and or complications of premature birth.

The youngster’s voices will certainly carry them a long way, but their generosity has traveled even further. Because of their visit, children with special needs and their families received a bundle of holiday spirits that will help them enjoy the festive season even more.
