Henry Lievre, Board Director, Awarded for Philanthropic Support and Exemplary Leadership
Henry LievreBayside, NY May 20, 2008 – St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children is honored to join The United Hospital Fund in recognizing Henry T. Lievre, President and Founder of Independent Wealth Advisory Group, as the 2008 recipient of the Distinguished Trustee Award.
The United Hospital Fund, established to support and promote quality healthcare for the people of New York, extends this special award to publicly acknowledge individuals for their outstanding commitment and philanthropic support of the New York City’s Hospital system. Amongst board and staff members of the United Hospital Fund, Mr. Lievre was recognized for his vital role in serving the healthcare industry, at the Fund’s Tribute to Hospital Trustee’s luncheon on April 28th at the Waldorf Astoria.
As one of this year’s 34 recipients Mr. Lievre was honored for his extraordinary contributions, exemplary leadership and dedicated service to St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children, one of the nation’s premier providers of intensive rehabilitation and specialized care for children with special needs and life-limiting conditions.
“As a dedicated board member, and past Chairman of St. Mary’s Foundation for Children, Henry has generously supported the programs and services of St. Mary’s while offering his guidance and expertise to help advance the organization’s mission,” remarked Burton Grebin, MD, St. Mary’s President and CEO. “His contributions are especially meaningful as he has joined us in creating miracles for our patients and their families. Henry has truly been instrumental in shaping the innovative and dynamic advances of St. Mary’s over the years and we are honored to help recognize his efforts, commitment, and compassion to New York’s children with special healthcare needs.”
St. Mary’s will be honoring Mr. Lievre at its 22nd annual Golf Outing at Engineers Country Club in Roslyn Harbor on September 15, 2008.
The Independent Wealth Advisory Group services on wealth management and tax matters to corporations, non-profit organization and foundations. With over thirty-five years of experience in tax law, prior to founding his company, Mr. Lievre served as Vice President of tax and wealth advisory for Lehman Brothers Trust Company and team leader for the JP Morgan Chase U.S. Tax Planning Team. Participating in numerous industry activities, Mr. Lievre served as Chairman of the Committee of Banking Institutions in Taxation, member of the American Bankers Association Trust & Estate Tax Committee and many others. Mr. Lievre has also participated as a guest lecturer at various colleges throughout the state including Baruch College, Fordham University, St. John’s University and New York University’s School of Continuing and Professional Education. He speaks nationally on the effectiveness of charitable trust and foundations and has recently been named as a tax expert by the New York State Bankers Association. Henry is a Valley Stream resident and a proud grandfather of two.
