St. Mary’s Kids Treated to a Holiday Party Hosted by the Kiwanis Club of LaGuardia Airport

Over 50 Children with Special Needs Enjoy a Night of Dinner, Dancing and Festive Activities

St. Mary’s kids kicked off the holiday celebrations with a bang at the LaGuardia Marriot in Queens, NY.

It was a wild night as the young patients of St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children put on their dancing shoes and gathered for a night of dinner, dancing and festive activities, all courtesy of the Kiwanis Club at LaGuardia Airport, a global organization of volunteers dedicated to bringing happiness to children throughout the community.

The festive holiday party headed by Dolly DeThomas, Committee Chair, took the place of a yearly boat ride the Kiwan is Club hosts for St. Mary’s kids. This year, the group decided to deliver their holiday cheers and bundles of joy in a different way and even received a little help from local neighborhood organizations such as Queens Public Television who sponsored a clown and a graffiti artist.

All the children were provided with special holiday gifts ranging from T-shirts to caps, art work and huggable toy puppies.

Other participants included The Marriot at LaGuardia Airport, Royal Waste Services, Air Service Corp., Molly’s Balloons, and several members of the Kiwanis Club who all pooled their resources and participated to help brighten the holidays for over 50 children battling complex medical and life-limiting conditions.
