Steven Silverstein, President & CEO of Spirit Halloween and Volunteers Host Halloween Party for St. Mary’s Kids

4th Annual Celebration Featuring Costumes, Tricks and Treats, Brings the Spirit of Halloween to Special Needs Kids

On Tuesday, October 18th, the kids of St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children were treated to costumes, crafts and plenty of tricks and treats at the 4th annual Halloween celebration sponsored by Spirit Halloween. The country’s leading seasonal Halloween retailer provided all of the spooky costumes and décor, as well as a dozen volunteers to host the fall festivities.

Spirit Halloween’s President and CEO, Steven Silverstein joined the Halloween festivities and helped St. Mary’s Kids create some extraordinary memories. Mr. Silverstein was truly impressed with the high level of energy and confidence St. Mary’s kids showed as they dived right into carving pumpkins, participating in ring tosses, decorating masks and lots more.

The annual celebration is a favorite among St. Mary’s Kids, some of the most seriously ill and injured children in theNew Yorkregion battling complex medical and life-limiting conditions.

Spirit of Children has raised more than, $28,000 to date to support programs and services at St. Mary’s Hospital for Children.

Launched in 2006, Spirit Halloween created the Spirit of Children program to bring Halloween celebrations to children in hospitals and rehabilitation centers who may not otherwise experience the joys of the holiday, like the kids of St. Mary’s.  To date, Spirit of Children has raised more than $18,000 to support valuable programs and services at St. Mary’s.
